Similar to Maeroa, Dinsdale is an up-and-coming family-friendly suburb based on the outskirts of the mighty ‘Tron. It boasts ‘must-do’ activities, such as Hamilton Zoo and Taitua Arboretum, with nearby iconic destinations Hamilton Lake, Minogue Park and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all bustling at the edges. “Because of the huge catchment area of the suburb, Dinsdale is home to a number of good primary schools, fuelling the growth of young families in the area,” explains Lisa. “What’s more, it’s only a 10-minute drive to the CBD, and you don’t have to cross a bridge to get where you are going - that doesn’t happen often in Hamilton! Dinsdale also offers easy access to all parts of town; The Base, Raglan and the expressway to Auckland. So, when we talk about location and Dinsdale, there is a reason.”

“Dinsdale is filled with large, well-built homes from the forgotten decades,” Lisa says. “These solid 1970s/1980s houses don’t get the attention they deserve for their great bones, when compared to the highly sought-after character homes of Hamilton East. Here in Dinsdale, many homes have large sections as well – another perk for families!”
“We often have buyers who are looking in Glenview or Deanwell extend their search to Dinsdale, which means homes sell quickly and most are under multi-offer scenarios,” adds Lisa.
Walk to the local amenities
Dinsdale is known for many things; its wide selection of shops, services, activities, takeaways and the busker who plays his guitar on the footpath outside of Countdown (who doesn’t love a free concert). It’s these popular amenities that house a lot of the convenience this suburb has to offer.
“Across the last 15 years the community in Dinsdale has absolutely transformed!” says Lisa. “Increasingly, people have embraced the suburb’s walkability to the local amenities or to the services that help you get to them.”
There’s something to be said about a location that offers access to doctors, dentists and, chiropractors as well as a destination for great coffee and all day breakfasts at Lola! There’s connection to The Base, Waikato Hospital and Waikato University thanks to the Orbiter bus route and, let’s not forget the Hamilton to Auckland train, a mere five minute drive from Dinsdale!
