Culture, camaraderie and rewarding careers at Lugtons
Are you at the height of your career and looking for greater financial reward? Do you want to re-channel your potential into a career where the earning potential and opportunities for business growth are unlimited?
At Lugtons, our family-oriented culture encourages personal growth and success. That’s why each of our sales consultants is supported to maximise their potential and make the most of the opportunities available to them.
Del Bredesen, Residential Sales Consultant at Lugtons’ Central Hamilton office, was at the height of her sales and management career in the retail industry, when the birth of her first child meant she wanted to pursue a more flexible, but equally rewarding, career. An extremely driven person, in real estate, Del has found a career in which she doesn’t have to compromise.
“I choose the hours I work, I have the flexibility to manage my time, I’m constantly learning, and I have the opportunity to grow my own business. I love them family philosophy at Lugtons. It’s all about service and people, not numbers. And, what’s more, the opportunities are endless. I truly believe you have to jump out of your comfort zone to see your full potential and Lugtons provides that environment for me to succeed – for me, and my family!”
A meaningful sales experience
Nick Earnery was also looking for a change of career and willing to leave a successful sales and marketing position in the FMCG industry to pursue the opportunities he believed real estate offered. “It was an industry I’d always aspired to work in and after experiencing firsthand the level of service Lugtons offered, that was the only company I wanted to work for,” he says.
Now a Residential Sales Consultant at Lugtons’ Greenhill office, Nick says his absolute favourite part of working in real estate is the difference he can make in people’s lives every single day. “People come to me looking for their dream home, a home where they’re going to grow their family, foster their professional career, relax in, spend time with friends. I get to help and support them through a momentous decision in their lives.”
Libby Buchanan, Lugtons’ Marketing & Performance Manager, says it’s not unusual for people to embark on a career in real estate with no industry experience. “I’m looking for people who are at the height of their professional career, or doing really well in a corporate environment, who want to be rewarded better financially than they currently are. It doesn’t matter if they haven’t got industry experience. It’s my job to ensure they know exactly what to do,” she says.
A drive to succeed
Jamie Barakat, Residential Sales Consultant at Lugtons’ River Road office, previously worked in hospitality and hairdressing before making the move to Lugtons and within three years has accumulated multiple awards. He puts his success down to his drive to succeed and the support he’s received from Lugtons.
“I’ve always been fortunate to work in family-run businesses and they really are very different from corporate/franchise-type environments,” says Jamie. “That’s why Lugtons has been the best place for me and my real estate career.”
“Lugtons take you through a very good process to start you off, and continually support you along the way. I’ve been able to establish a successful career in real estate but have the protection of a large, well-known company behind me,” he says.
Lugtons’ Director, Simon Lugton, says the firm is looking for people who are enthusiastic, driven and who really want to get great results from their own endeavours. People like, Del, Nick and Jamie. “If you’re in your current job and you feel like you’re acing it but there is nowhere else to go, then real estate is a job where the only barrier is the unknown limit of your potential,” says Nick.
